Pedro Carreno: Impressive Cheetah Woodcarving

Impressive cheetah wood sculpture by Oaxacan woodcarving artist Pedro Carreno.  The feline is carved to perfection. It is a one-piece sculpture with such elegance and beauty. The face is spectacularly sculpted.  Pedro decorated the cheetah with ancient codex symbols surrounded by Maya Blue colored borders. Maya blue was a pigment first used around 800 AD and is still in the 16th century. The cheetah has many views depending on the angle from which it is observed. A stunning example of Oaxacan woodcarving art!
