Miguel is a well-known woodcarving artist from Oaxaca and is featured prominently in "Crafting Tradition: The Making and Marketing of Oaxacan Wood Carvings" by Michael Chibnik. He has developed a style of his own, paying particular attention to the faces of his subjects. The eyes are not only painted but carved as well, and the ears always have a special theme.
