Wonderful Barro Negro from Oaxaca Frida Skull. The skull has matte and bright black areas that make it so attractive! During most of this pottery's history, the color was not black, it was a grayish matte. It was until the famous Oaxacan potter Doña Rosa, started burnishing the pots and firing them at a lower temperature then the beautiful black sheen was obtained.
