Breathtaking olla by Master Potter Hector Gallegos Sr. This extremely lightweight and smooth olla has been painstakingly painted with amazing precision, cuadrito by cuadrito. The delicate lid is shaped like a Paquime "T" door and crowns the elegant neck of the pot. What distinguishes the work of Hector Gallegos is the perfect form of his pots, its detailed line work, the extraordinary time dedicated to each piece, and the mastery of execution. A very similar pot by Hector was exhibited at the Franz Mayer Museum and is featured in the Artes de Mexico book pg.14. (see below). One of the finest ollas we have seen!.
