Cristo Escamilla's smaller owl has its own distinct character. The copper wire radiates freely around those vivid glass eyes, looser, more expressive than the larger version, like a bird fully at ease in its own feathers. The face and stance are very expressive. The body is looped mesh at the core, with strands fanning loose at the wings and hem. From the side, the wire sweeps downward in long, unbound lines that suggest feathers in motion.
