This beautiful mixed-media wall art features a colorful hand-embroidered bird. The handcrafted bark paper is made in Puebla, Mexico, using traditional pre-Hispanic methods of papermaking. In the center of the piece is a square cotton cloth hand-embroidered with a bright butterfly. The embroidery is handmade in Tenango, Puebla, and is centered on the moist paper. The natural, bark-colored perforations are strands of paper woven while the paper is still wet. Lovely!
