Stunning pelican with fish wood carving by alebrijes artist Nicolas Morales. This fabulous piece is a one-piece carving, except for the fish, and it is magnificently sculpted. The painting is superb. Nicolas incorporated his trademark codex-like figures with beautiful traditional Oaxacan painting as well as the Morales trademark pointillism technique. This bird has codex eagles, fish, Quetzalcoatls, and water symbols. Impressive!
