Striking duck effigy created by Nancy Heras. This duck is very well balanced and doesn't need a pottery ring to stand! Beautifully painted in traditional red and black natural pigments. The painting of this duck is not the regular commercial painting done on some of her ducks. Take a look at the very detailed and precise design. A similar piece by Nancy & husband Luiz Martinez was part of The Field Museum's exhibit of Mata Ortiz pottery. Sadly Nancy Heras passed away in August 2016,and this was the last duck we were lucky to have her make for us.
