Miguel Santiago is considered by some authors the finest woodcarver in Oaxaca and is well known for his unique style. He has developed a style of his own, paying particular attention to the faces of his subjects. The eyes are not only painted but carved as well, each tooth is perfectly formed and colored and the ears always have a special theme. This spectacular resting one-piece cheetah carving is a great example of Miguel's art.
