This playful Dante figure was created by Magaly Fuentes and husband Jose Calvo. Dante is a character of the popular Disney movie Coco. It's very interesting to see the influence of Oaxaca's woodcarvers art and talent in the movie and how the film has now inspired the artists in Oaxaca! There are many woodcarvers that are creating alebrijes depicting the characters of the film, each imprinting their own interpretation and style. Magaly's colorful design includes pre-Columbian fretwork and beautiful op-art patterns. A beautiful piece!
