This wonderful Day of the Dead olla was created by Master potters Javier and Gaby Martinez. It is their version of how Mata Ortiz's graveyard looks during the night. The etched skeletons and tombs are dedicated to some of the top Mata Ortiz potters that have passed away such as Nicolas Quezada, Chevo Ortiz with his band, Consolacion Quezada, and Felix Ortiz. As you can see, it is a festive portrayal of one of Mexico's most important celebrations, there are music and dancing, owls, and even a rabbit on the moon!.
