What a spectacular sapphire ant this is! This large ant was handcrafted in Jalisco by Huichol artists. The Wixárika or Huichol people are the masters of beaded art in Mexico and arguably the world. Beads are painstakingly placed one by one over the wax areas that have been prepared for beading.
This very elegant ant has classic Huichol patterns of peyote flowers, stars, frogs, and deer.
