Carolina Sandoval & Kengi: Messenger of Joy Hummingbird
This hummingbird by artists Carolina Sandoval and Kengi is pure joy; an elegant, vertical burst of color with wings flared wide as if it’s hovering in place. The body is painted in layered violets and plum, each feather scale outlined with meticulous shading, then shifting into cool teal and green along the lower body like an iridescent sheen.
The wings are a showpiece: deep purple panels packed with fine geometric linework and finished with warm orange edging that makes every feather pop. A bright chartreuse head and a long, needle-fine beak give the figure that unmistakable hummingbird silhouette, while a fluffy hot-pink crest adds a playful flourish—like a little burst of celebration. In Mesoamerican cultures, hummingbirds appear as powerful sacred beings connected to ancestors, ritual practice, and life force.
Shipping note: the beak is removable for safe packing and shipping, and fits securely into place when you’re ready to display.
