Huichol artists. The Wixárika or Huichol people are the masters of beaded art in Mexico and arguably the world. Beads are painstakingly placed one by one over the wax areas that have been prepared for beading. This very elegant deer has a central star design, and classic Huichol patterns of deer, peyote, corn, and scorpions. Deers were considered by the Huichol people Messengers of God.
