Absolutely magnificent hippo wood sculpture by top Oaxaca artist Rocio Fabian. This stunning sculpture is very well carved, giving it a sense of alertness and dynamism. The painting is simply extraordinary. One of the most attractive painting I have seen. The design is very complex with different mandala-like circles and Zapotec fretwork formed with extraordinarily precise brushstrokes of minute details. The coloring is at the same time bright and warm but very elegant. A magnificent piece!
