Impressive Mata Ortiz contemporary olla by artist Jerardo Tena. The beautiful cream-colored base contrasts very nicely with the intense black and turquoise cuadritos, little squares, design. The form of the pot is very contemporary, with an asymmetrical design. Notice the off-center opening of the vase and the ease with which the design flows from it. The olla is perfectly balanced! Jerardo has been invited on numerous occasions to travel to the US and give special pottery workshops and participate in pottery exhibitions..
